DIY choker necklace – Gargantilla choker

The choker necklace is a huuuge trend right now and it took me a while to get into the spirit. I was afraid they would look bad because a have a chubby neck, but once I tried them I loved the vibe and how effortless and chic they look. But, one problem I had with them was the sizing, they were all small for me, so I decided to make a few for me and my friends.

Honestly is one of the easiest DIY I’ve done, the only problem is deciding what design you’ll be doing. I went crazy and bought a lot of suede strips with different colors and tons of charms.

La gargantilla choker es una tendencia enooorme en este momento y me tomó un tiempo para entrar en el espíritu. Tenía miedo de que se vería mal porque mi cuello es gordito, pero una vez que los probé me encantó el vibra y toque effortless y elegante que dan. Aunque, tuve problemas con los tamaños, todos eran muy cortos para mí, así que decidí hacer algunos para mí y mis amigas.

Sinceramente es una de los proyectos más fáciles que he hecho, el único problema es decidir qué diseño qué vas a hacer. Yo me volví loca comprado un montón de tiras de gamuza con diferentes colores y un montón de piedritas y cosas para colgar.

You will need:

• Suede strips, ribbon, faux leather strips
• Charms or beads
• Ribbon ends
• Clasps
• Jump rings
• jewelry pliers (optional, but it makes everything easier)

There’s no much science to it, you need to free your mind and let your imagination fly. The choker necklace is usually really close to the neck and I love the ones with a simple, minimalistic design.

Vas a necesitar:

• Tiras de gamuza, listones, tiras de imitación cuero
• Adornitos, colgantes
• Cierres finales
• Ganchitos
• Anillos para cerrar
• Alicates de la joyería (opcional, pero hace todo más fácil)

No hay mucha ciencia en hacerlos, necesitas liberar tu mente y dejar volar la imaginación. La gargantilla choker es por lo general es muy cerca del cuello y me encantan los que tienen un diseño sencillo y minimalista.

Let’s make’em

You need to choose your design: insert the charms, beads or make some knots and measure how tight or loose it will be in your neck. Then you need to secure the ribbon ends, attach your clasp using a jump ring and there you have it! As you can see in the picture, I made like 20 different designs and I still have a loooot of ideas, ribbons and beads all around my house haha

Lo primero es elegir el diseño: insertar las cuentitas, colgantes o hacer algunos nudos y medir la tensión en el cuello. Luego hay que asegurar los extremos de la cinta, conectar el broche usando un anillo y de ahí lo tienes! Como pueden ver en la imagen, hice como 20 diseños diferentes y todavía tengo muuuchas ideas, cintas y cositos por toda mi casa jaja
