who i am
Hello! My name is Luisa, Luisa Verdee [vér‧de]. I'm a 28 years old UXer and blogger from México with a huge passion for sharing and for having an opinion. Golden Strokes is my personal style diary, beauty and makeup experiment lab, and body positive platform.
Even more about me
Luisa Verdee, Mexican born and raised, established myself -kinda- in Santiago, Chile for the past 4 years. Part time blogger, part time Digital Engineer and UX designer/researcher (I make websites and user experiences), I always find myself documenting my experiences about fashion, skincare, makeup, travels or when there’s good food.
I started blogging a few years ago (in 2010), but for different reasons I stopped using my first blog –Green’s Life Diary. Then, in Nov. 2014, I decided to have a fresh start in the blogging world, social networks and even my personal brand. Having started blogging from so early on in the industry, my intentions and ways of communicating are very different from the new blogging community. And although I’ve had to stay up to date, I really enjoy the freedom, control and approaches of having a blog, my own space on the web.
Golden Strokes [GS] is my brand and the blog is my main platform now. It quickly started growing within the plus size community without me -honestly- looking for any of that. After listening to my audience and finding a way to mix that with what I love, GS gave me the opportunity to start part-time work as a blogger and participating in campaigns with lots of brands (locally and internationally), as a speaker of Technovation 2018 – Día de las Niñas TIC and also as the face of the Maybelline Big Shot Mascara in Chile and Fashion’s Park Plus Size Line for Summer 2017.
Looking for more opportunities and ways to connect to my ‘Goldens’, as I like to call my community, I started giving personal image, skincare and makeup, and Body Positive related workshops in Chile and México. By the half of 2019 Golden Strokes gave successfully a total of 23 workshops in 5 cities and 2 different countries, helping around 194 woman in the way.
