Comida de otro mundo

Un día de mucha hambre, con Mister P conocimos Maprao Thai en su local de Manuel Montt y pedimos un Curry Verde y un salteado Phad Thai que fueron nuestro primer acercamiento con la comida Tailandesa. Como siempre, compartimos mitad y mitad y salimos con la guatita y el corazón contento.

Algo que nació como un carrito de comida, 100% inspirado en las calles de Tailandia, fue creciendo hasta convertirse en un restaurante con sabores lo más parecido a los originales, hechos con mucha pasión para, más que hacer un platillo, crear una experiencia para el comensal.A really hungry day, with Mister P we met Maprao Thai, a tiny, loving place in Providencia and we ordered Green Curry and stir fry Phad Thai, that were our first encounter with Thai food. As always, we shared half and half, and left with a happy belly and a happy heart.

Something that began as a food car, 100% inspired by the streets of Thailand, grew to become a restaurant with flavors as close to the original, made with lots of passion for more than just making a good dish but creating an experience for the commensal.

Tailandia llegó a Santiago

Al pasar por la puerta te transportas a otro país. Los aromas, los nombres de los platillos, las fotografías en la pared y sobre todo esos 3 woks a todo fuego que preparan lo que estás a punto de disfrutar. La verdad, tenía miedo de que los sabores fueran muy fuertes o picantes para mi. Pero salí sorprendida y enamorada de los currys, pude probar un platillo totalmente nuevo, sentir una explosión de sabores en cada mordida y disfruté una porción que fue suficiente para toda la tarde.
Passing through the door you are transported to another country. The aromas, the names of the dishes, the pictures on the wall and those 3 woks preparing what you are about to enjoy. I was afraid that the flavors were very strong or spicy for me. But I left surprised and in love with the Currys, I tried a completely new dish, felt an explosion of flavors in each bite and enjoyed a portion than was enough for the whole afternoon.

Mis favoritos

Sin duda, me quedo con los currys. Me encanta la comida bien jugosa y cremosa y disfruté mucho las mezclas de crema de coco y maní o albahaca que juegan en tu boca y van cambiando de sabor conforme vas mordiendo distintas verduras o tipos de proteína. La opción de picante me encantó, es súper distinto al picante mexicano.
Encontré que los precios son buenos, o sea, tomemos en cuenta que muchos de sus productos son importados y difíciles de conseguir. Además, no se dejen engañar por la cajita, en verdad la porción es grande. Las veces que he ido con Mister P siempre queda para llevar. Si van, tienen que probar las brochetas de Satay de Maní, ¡son exquisitas!
I will definitely stay with Currys. I love rich, creamy and juicy food and I enjoyed the coconut cream and basil or peanuts mixtures playing in my mouth, and the changing taste as you go biting different types of vegetables or protein. Loved the spice up option, it’s super different to the Mexican spice.
I found that the prices are good, I mean, you have to take into account that many of the products are imported and hard to get. And well, don’t be fooled by the box, the portion is really big. Every time I’ve gone with Mister P we took some left overs. If you go, you have to try the peanut satay skewers, they’re delicious!
