Postcards Part I

As you might know I went on summer vacations with Mister P and his family. We stayed in Colonia, Uruguay just for one day and for 6 days in Montevideo. We visited the old side of the city, the beach and we ate like there was no tomorrow.

I enjoyed the city, the people are so nice! They are always willing to help, they smile and they are super friendly. The architecture from downtown was breath taking, the food was pretty good, although it was expensive. Also, because it’s carnaval season we went to see a typical performance group called Murgas, which I was skeptical about but ended up liking it a lot. And don’t even get me started with the river/beach, the water was SO warm and clam, I LO-VED IT.

Overall I liked Montevideo but I felt like the city was really neglected and I’m not a fan of that.
Como pueden ya saber, me fui de vacaciones de verano con Mister P y su familia. Nos quedamos en Colonia, Uruguay sólo por un día y 6 días en Montevideo. Visitamos mucho la parte antigua de la ciudad y comimos como si no hubiera mañana. Yo estuve enferma un día y usamos otro para descansar, ya que nos dolían mucho las piernas de tanto caminar.

Disfruté de la ciudad, ¡la gente es tan agradable! Siempre están dispuestos a ayudar, sonríen y son simplemente super amables. La arquitectura del centro de la ciudad es impresionante, la comida era bastante buena, aunque era cara. Además, debido a que es temporada de carnaval fuimos a ver varios shows típicos llamado Murgas, que la verdad, estaba escéptica al principio, pero terminó gustándome mucho.

En general me gustó, pero sentí que la ciudad estaba muy descuidada y eso no me agradó.
