Shine baby, shine ayaw
Nothing says New Year’s party better than a good mixture of textures, specially if there’s some shimmer in one of them. I’ve always found very chic mixing busy textures, it’s something different that not a lot of people do, but this year and the upcoming one will be full of it, quote me on that. Dare to mix leather with lace, sequins with silk or velvet with metallic. I love the decadent and over the top style of juxtaposing textures, specially for the holiday parties where we all want to shine.
I’ve been doing texture cocktails for a while now, but I think this is my fist time wearing velvet. It’s such a thick fabric, most people will tell you not to wear it if you are plus size, that’s why with the #CurvyBloggersMX we decided to each make a holiday look wearing this huge trend and in one way or another say “f*ck the -so called- fashion rules” and show the world that we can all shine in any type of fabric, with our own personal style.

Nada dice fiesta de Año Nuevo mejor que una buena mezcla de texturas, especialmente si hay un toque de brillo en una de ellas. Siempre me ha parecido muy chic mezclar texturas pesadas, es algo diferente que mucha gente no hace, pero este año estuvo y el próximo estará lleno, cítenme sobre esto. Atrévete a mezclar cuero con encaje, lentejuelas con seda o terciopelo con metalizado. Me encanta el estilo decadente y exagerado de yuxtaponer texturas, especialmente para las fiestas donde todos deseamos brillar.
He estado haciendo cócteles de texturas por un tiempo, pero creo que esta es la primera vez que uso terciopelo. Es una tela tan gruesa que la mayoría de la gente te dirá que no la uses si eres de talla grande, por eso con las #CurvyBloggersMX decidimos hacer un look para Año Nuevo con esta tendencia y de una manera u otra decir “f *ck the -so called- fashion rules” y mostrar al mundo que todos podemos brillar en cualquier tipo de tela, con nuestro propio estilo.
