Don’t forget about the pots

Flower and plants give live to any space either if its in or outdoors but I feel l that most of the time we forget about the flower pots. We see them just as a functional piece and they get outshine by the plants themselves or hidden by a shelf or holder.

So after realizing this Mr. P and I decided to think outside the pot -haha and pimp up our flower pots and make them decorative pieces. We went for a minimal, clean and three tone style so they won’t outshine the plants or the rest of our decor.

Masking and paint / Enmascarillado y pintura

1- Draw the pattern or line in pencil and tape off the line with painter’s tape and cover the rest of the non-painted space with a bag. 2- Spray paint over the tape to create your division. Don’t use too much paint or it will bleed through the tape. 3- Then simply remove the tape, touch up any imperfections and voila!

•••

1- Starting at the bottom begin hot gluing the rope to the pot. Continue to do this around the pot all the way to the top and rim. 2- I snipe off the rope and secure it with hot glue.
You can play with the design by just gluing the rope to one half of the pot.
•••

This is by far the easiest one and it looks really cool. Rust-oleum recently came out with a spray that gives stone texture to any surface, it comes in different colors (black, white, rusty) but I choose the classic gray one because it matches well with my theme. 1- All you have to do is spray paint all over the pot and let it dry. You don’t need to seal it and with one coat you are ready to go!

As you can see in the photos we did different designs on each flower pot but keeping the same style and materials so it looks cohesive. We also saved some money because we used old plastic pots that we bought in a thrift shop and restore them with paint. Hopefully you guys like this ideas and give them a try! If you do don’t forget to show me through social media!
